3 storylines mingle

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 276 concludes one storyline (Jason's) while at the same time bringing two old ones back to the fore, namely Maggie's madness and spooky ghost girl Sarah. All three scenarios are mingled together quite nicely in this well-paced instalment.

Jason's dead while Maggie begins to come back to life.

Warning: Spoilers
The opening scene culminates with the horrifying death of the dastardly Jason McGuire with the camera lingering on Jason long enough to express the horror on his face. Barnabas and Willie simply dispose of his body like a piece of garbage (nice metaphor!) with the intention of it not being found. Of course, Elizabeth will probably wonder if he is still out there to come back for revenge along with Paul, who will ironically come back with Dennis Patrick in the role. "Say farewell to Jason McGuire, Willie", adding on "Goodbye McGuire. Your greed destroyed you." Barnabas questions his own lack of rest as the living dead, and he gives Willie a bit of family history, mentioning his parents Joshua and Naomi and his sister Sarah who died as a child, giving us an indication who the ghostly child is.

Then we're back at the sanatorium with the good doctors Woodard and Hoffman, the second appearance of the superb Grayson Hall. They have differences over Maggie's treatment but Dave demands to be allowed to show Maggie the drawing of Sarah. The table is set now for the return to life of Maggie which will certainly set up a chance meeting with Barnabas and Julia, one of the key relationships of the show. Maggie's remembrance of Sarah is a key moment, and Barnabas's recollection of her is superb detail about his past and his life before vampirism turned him evil.
