Watch: January Jones Stars in Indie Western 'Sweetwater' Us Trailer

26 September 2013 12:39 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Hasn't beaten me yet..." Grab your six-shooter and rally 'round for this fun trailer. A theatrical Us trailer has debuted for Sweetwater, or Sweet Vengeance, a western from director Logan Miller (of Touching Home) starring January Jones with the "strawberry hair, purple dress, all painted up." She ends up in a "blood triangle" involving a renegade Sheriff, played by Ed Harris, and a fanatical religious leader, played by Jason Isaacs. As much fun as this looks, I can't say I'm that interested, especially considering I haven't heard much positive buzz at all. Ed Harris looks like he'll be entertaining to watch but that's about it. Enjoy. Here's the full Us trailer for Logan Miller's Sweetwater (aka Sweet Vengeance), found via The Playlist: In the late 1800s, a fanatical religious leader, a renegade Sheriff, and a former prostitute collide in a blood triangle on the rugged plains of the New Mexico Territory. »

New Trailer for Sweetwater with January Jones, Ed Harris & Jason Isaacs

10 July 2013 7:00 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Released straight to DVD here in the UK last month, under the title Sweet Vengeance, Sweetwater premiered at Sundance at the start of the year, and boasts an all-star cast led by January Jones.

And whilst no release date has yet been set in the States, a slightly new trailer has surfaced online, the first bearing the Sweetwater title, giving us a look at Jones front and centre in the Western.

Against the backdrop of the American Old West, newlyweds Miguel and Sarah struggle to make a living cultivating their small patch of land. Soon a much bigger struggle arises as powerful landowner and community preacher Prophet Josiah makes a play for their property. As he launches his diabolical plot to take their land, an eccentric big-city sheriff comes to town. Things soon go from bad to worse, culminating in a jaw-dropping, hell-hath-no-fury showdown.

Betty Draper Got A Gun: First Trailer For Western 'Sweetwater' Starring January Jones & Ed Harris Plus Lots Of New Pics

8 July 2013 12:18 PM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

So yeah, January Jones is leading a western and don't worry if you forgot about it. In fact, the film titled "Sweetwater" (though it seems to be going as "Sweet Vengeance" in some territories) even premiered at Sundance back in January, but the reception was so muted (some folks have told us it was awful) that the movie is still without a U.S. distributor. But international openings await, and thus we have our first trailer. Well, they certainly made the most of exploding ketchup packets. Yep, the blood really flies in "Sweetwater" even if the movie seems to be a pretty generic tale with a gender twist. Logan and Noah Miller, have teamed with Jones and re-teamed with Ed Harris (after working with him on "Touching Home"), for this story set in 1886 New Mexico where a young widow seeks revenge for the murder of her husband at the hands of a brutal rancher. »

Sundance 2013: Miller twins explain how the West was won with 'Sweetwater'

Six years ago, Logan and Noah Miller ambushed Ed Harris after a screening at the San Francisco Film Festival and told him that he had to play their late father in their movie. Daniel Miller had passed away on a jailhouse floor four months before after a life marred by alcoholism, but before he’d died, the identical twins had promised him that they would make a movie about his life — and that Ed Harris would play him. Despite no Hollywood experience and no financing in place, the boys were persuasive and Harris rather quickly agreed. “They’re smart and »

Sweetwater: Sundance Review

22 January 2013 1:26 PM, PST | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

The Old West is portrayed as a venal loony bin in Sweetwater, a handsomely designed, occasionally funny but ultimately empty female vengeance yarn. With one foot in a goofy spaghetti Western universe and the other in Kill Bill Tarantino territory where characters expound with unexpected loquaciousness, Logan and Noah Miller’s follow-up to their 2008 debut Touching Home, also starring Ed Harris, offers intermittent distractions for genre fans but lacks sufficient size or distinction to go very far theatrically. Set in what would seem to be the late 1800s in New
