The proper procedure when someone is having a seizure is to make sure the person is safe. Never restrain them unless absolutely necessary, like being in danger of falling off something and injuring themselves from the fall. If you must restrain do so as gently as possible because a person can shake so violently that they're bones can be broken if restrained too tightly. Never stick your fingers in someone's mouth during a seizure because they could bite you, they will not swallow their tongue. Make sure there is nothing in the area the person can collide with and injure themselves, or knock something down from above that could land on them and injure them. Stay calm, make sure they're breathing and call 911 or whatever emergency number for your area.
