Trivia

The film was mostly funded out of the filmmakers' own pockets. Director Shane Abbess worked as a building laborer, a removalist, at a call center and as a dockyard truck driver simply to raise money for his film. Five weeks into shooting when it looked like the money was about to run out, he was prepared to return to his job as a removalist when his old boss gave him sufficient funds to complete the film. Quotes

Gabriel: Do you know who served us?
Jade: [looks at him] Does he seem familiar?
[Gabriel shakes his head]
Jade: Well he's been here a long time.
[looks at Gabriel, thinks for a moment]
Jade: That's Ithuriel, another who surrender to the fear. And after he heard of my fate, he choose exile over confrontation.
Gabriel: [shaking his head] I can't...
Jade: [cuts Gabriel off, lowers her voice] Don't be so harsh to judge others Gabriel. You haven't been here long enough to earn that right.
Gabriel: I don't intend to either.

It's worth watching
30 December 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I was quite afraid of quality of the movie before watching it. But, it is definitely not another B class horror/Gothic/cheesy movie. It has a decent story, interesting characters, just enough tweaks to keep everything in place. I should also add the action scenes are quite well done; couple of them are quite remarkable, and no overkill.

You'll find some resemblances with Dark City, Donnie Darko and Blade Runner.

Yes, the scenario is about the history old war between pure good and total bad. But, that war would never loose its popularity and this movie is a good addition to the list.
