At the hotel restaurant, Burke (Mitchell Ryan) discusses Malloy's disappearance with waitress Maggie (Kathryn Leigh Scott). With her car in the shop due to carburetor problems, Carolyn (Nancy Barrett) has coffee with Joe (Joel Crothers). They decide to end their recent quarreling and later share a kiss at Collinwood. Burke interrupts, looking for Roger. Worried about Malloy's disappearance, Maggie questions Sam (David Ford), who is working on Burke's portrait.
