It's one o'clock in the morning. Vicki (Alexandra Moltke) can't sleep. Looking for something to read, she finds Roger (Louis Edmonds) in the drawing room, also awake. He's just called Sam (David Ford) to again demand he not paint Burke's portrait. Sam gives daughter Maggie (Kathryn Leigh Scott) a sealed envelope to be opened in case something happens to her pop. More worried than ever, Maggie guesses it has something to do with Roger Collins. Vicki hears a ghostly crying sound, which seems to fill each room at Collinwood. She follows it to the locked basement room and is startled by a visitor...
