David's too nutty for a sundae!
mark.waltz28 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Yet there he is, hiding out at the restaurant with Maggie Evans. The good hearted waitress, who believes that Roger will be picking him up, believes his excuse for trying to get into Burke Devlin's room. Burke, in the meantime, confronts the constable for entering his room while he was away, but is not surprised by him finding nothing. "Spells and incantations, Maggie", Roger says suspiciously to her when he arrives to pick David up, but finding that David has disappeared. Slowly but surely, Maggie, whom a bulk of the show would focus on down the road, becomes a more important character, here witnessing the confrontation later between Roger and Burke. This leads to another scene between Roger and the constable, where suspicions are cast that Roger is hiding something. Someone is hiding something, and possibly that someone is every character yet introduced.

Another police procedural
Leofwine_draca1 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 28 is another police procedural-type episode of the show. The focus is on the township rather than at the manor. Burke continues to be investigated by the local sheriff, much to his displeasure. Meanwhile, David reappears and proceeds to act strangely, with his plan obvious to viewers. There's enough tension to see this episode through nicely and the fast pacing means that it doesn't outstay its welcome.

"Nuts and Whipped Cream on It"
wes-connors3 August 2011
For not the last time, David has disappeared from Collinwood. In town, Burke (Mitchell Ryan) is upset because Carter (Michael Currie) has searched his room for the missing "bleeder valve" that caused Roger's accident. Burke tells Carter, "He and that family railroaded me into prison." Working the hotel restaurant counter, Maggie (Kathryn Leigh Scott) makes David (David Henesy) a sundae after catching him trying to sneak into Burke's room; she calls Roger (Louis Edmonds)...

Constable Jonas Carter is now correctly credited as Sheriff Carter in the closing roll. We never see the NYPD lieutenant Frank Palmer who reports to Carter on Burke's investigation. Deeply concerned about her father's recent regression, Maggie steps up her own investigation by questioning both Roger and Burke about the events from ten years ago. She is certain Sam was involved. Watch for Louis Edmonds jumping up and down to warm up as he waits for his cue to enter the scene.
