The Force Is With "Phineas and Ferb"

4 February 2015 8:39 PM, PST | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

Popular animated Disney channel series Phineas and Ferb, has released another episode collection centered on a high-concept episode. In this case it is a parody of Star Wars: A New Hope, with Phineas and Ferb as background characters from Tattooine influenced by what happens in the main plotline of the original film. Perry the Platypus is a “Rebelpus” Jedi trying to thwart the villainous Darthenshmirtz (aka Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz), and their paths loosely cross with the leads. Elsewhere, Candace and friends are inferior Storm Troopers tasked with finding socks for Darth Vader. It’s a goofy concept for a goofy show, and they pull it off swimmingly.

2015: the year Netflix got serious

29 January 2015 3:03 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Between Marvel, sitcoms, and returning favourites, Netflix is producing more and more original content, here's what we can expect in 2015...

Not happy with being the undisputable king of subscription streaming TV and films, Netflix has spent the last few years finding its footing in creating original content. It's enjoyed some big hits with the likes of House Of Cards and Orange Is The New Black, but has also produced some less well-received properties such as Hemlock Grove and Arrested Development’s resurrection.

Marco Polo, the service's big budget drama following Mongolian leader Kublai Khan, was a sizeable risk for the network and one that didn't exactly lit the critical world alight (though a second season may well help with the teething problems).

Looking ahead, it seems that we’ll be seeing a new face of Netflix before the year is out. Netflix has more upcoming projects than ever before and »

The Walking Dead: Ross Marquand joins as series regular

15 January 2015 1:24 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Ross Marquand is the latest to join The Walking Dead, but who is he playing?

On this site, we normally like to explain where you might have seen an actor before when we deliver casting news.

However, we’d be surprised if you recognised Ross Marquand – he has appeared as Paul Newman in one episode of Mad Men, and voiced Han Solo in an episode of Phineas and Ferb, and we don’t have much more to go on.

We will be getting to know him soon, though, as he has signed-up as a series regular on AMC’s The Walking Dead for, at the very least, the second half of season five. Season six seems likely, too.

Although his role is being kept under wraps, Robert Kirkman has said publically before that a ‘prominent gay character’ from the comics would be appearing on our TV sets soon.

The Walking Dead Casts Ross Marquand as Season 5 Regular

14 January 2015 2:21 PM, PST | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

After the gut-wrenching events of The Walking Dead mid-season 5 finale, it looks like Rick Grimes and company will be on the move once again when the series returns in February. Hitting the road means the group will run across waves of walkers and scattered survivors, opening the door for new people to enter the show, such as actor Ross Marquand, who has joined the cast of The Walking Dead as a Season 5 regular.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ross Marquand (Amira & Sam, I <3 Vampires, Woodshop, voice of Han Solo in the “Star Wars” episode of Phineas and Ferb) will play an unknown character who will be introduced sometime in the upcoming second half of Season 5. Though his character’s name hasn’t yet been revealed, the fact that Marquand has been slated as a regular means the role should be a fairly prominent one. Some are even speculating that Marquand will play Aaron, »

'The Walking Dead' adds new cast member to play mystery character

14 January 2015 1:00 PM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln told us his show was going to “introduce a lot of new characters” in the second half of season 5 (which returns Feb. 8 on AMC). Well, we now know who will be paying one of those characters. Not only that, but the man joining the cast is the same man who played Han Solo! Which is, to say, the same man who voiced Han Solo in an episode of Phineas and Ferb. (What, you were expecting someone else?) »

'Walking Dead' Season 5 Adds New Regular in Secert Role

14 January 2015 12:26 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

With less than one month remaining until The Walking Dead returns with the midseason premiere on Sunday, February 8, Entertainment Weekly reports that actor Ross Marquand has joined the cast in an unspecified role. Series star Andrew Lincoln has already teased that the second half of Season 5 will introduce a number of new characters, but this is the first new casting addition we've heard of. While it hasn't been confirmed who exactly Ross Marquand is playing, EW speculated that the actor could be playing Aaron, a character from Robert Kirkman's comic books.

Aaron was introduced in issue #67 of the comic, where he meets up with Rick and his group on their way to Washington D.C., and convinces them to join the "walled-off community" known as the Alexandria Safe-Zone. In the midseason finale of The Walking Dead's after-show, Talking Dead, Robert Kirkman did tease that "a very prominent gay »
