Natalie Portman, JFK Flights And Amber Portwood In Today's Twitter-Wood

28 December 2010 2:09 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Lots of posters in the Twitter-Wood feed seemed to be shocked about one thing or another today, whether it was Michael Ian Black reacting to news of Natalie Portman's pregnancy or David Spade commenting on Amber Portwood's domestic battery charge.

Meanwhile, Paul Feig didn't seem shocked about his problems flying out of JFK yesterday so much as he was concerned with figuring out alternative means to get to London, Judd Apatow was afraid of how "Rabbit Hole" might make him feel, and Omar Doom likely frightened some people with the money he's been trying to use.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for December 28, 2010.

Take Three: Season 1 Wrap

19 December 2010 10:26 AM, PST | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

Craig here with a quick pre-Xmas wrap-up of season #1 of Take Three. If you have a very short memory, that'd be the Sunday Film Experience series which looked at three notable performances from a supporting or character actor's work.

The Big Cs: Considine, Cartwright, Cheadle

Last week’s actor Paddy Considine was the last Take Three for a spell (it's seasonal shenanigans, then everything Oscar here at The Film Experience). We began all the way back in May with Veronica Cartwright. All 29 Take Threes have been a pleasure to write. I've often found new admiration for the actors featured. It's fascinating what a spot of research and a few rewatches can do: who knew that I’d come to realise how much of a Peter Lorre fan I was had I not written about a trio of his perfs.

I veered from the strict definition of what constitutes a character »

Celebs Tweet About Ryan Reynolds And Scarlett Johansson's Split In Today's Twitter-Wood

15 December 2010 2:18 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

I try to keep Twitter-Wood chiefly focused on movies-related tweets, but today Quinton Aaron of "The Blind Side" post a pic from his first week shooting on "One Tree Hill" and Gillian Jacobs got up close and personal with her favorite bathroom door on the "Community" set, so certain allowances had to be made.

Outside of TV Land, Rose McGowan reacted to insinuations that people out there are dying from attempting to strap guns to their legs, while Danny DeVito offered advice about weed and pets, and Brian Lynch polled his followers with an important question related to Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson's breakup. See what he asked down below, along with what Kat Dennings has been dreaming about lately.

Faris Banned From TV As A Kid

14 December 2010 5:26 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Anna Faris had little knowledge about the cartoon history of her new movie Yogi Bear - because she was banned from watching TV as a child.

The House Bunny star's mother Karen was so strict, she refused to allow Faris and her brother to sit in front of the small screen after school and would even check up on the pair by feeling the TV's temperature to determine if it had been used.

So the kids came up with a unique way to keep their sneaky pastime a secret.

She says, "When I was growing up, my parents didn't let me watch TV, so I only (saw Yogi Bear) here and there.

"My mum would come home and she'd feel the television so my brother and I would wrap ice in towels to cool the television! We had to be innovative!" »

Golden Globe Nominations, Julian Assange And 'The Fighter' In Today's Twitter-Wood

14 December 2010 2:17 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

You definitely haven't seen Christian Serratos in the "Twilight" series wearing the kind of makeup she put on for a Black Keys video in her feed this week. She and Danny Masterson both sported some new looks and posted pics.

The big trending topic in international news today, though, was WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange getting granted bail in London, where Michael Moore stepped in and got personally involved. His reaction to the situation and a roundup of Golden Globe nomination chatter have been retweeted for you after the jump.

Faris Pestered By Parents Over Persistent Pregnancy Rumours

14 December 2010 2:06 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Anna Faris has to field excited phone calls from her parents whenever she puts on a little extra weight, because they are convinced by tabloid speculation that she's pregnant.

The House Bunny star has been married to second husband Chris Pratt since last year and although the couple has no plans to start a family just yet, she admits her mum and dad are constantly drawn into media claims she is expecting.

But Faris admits her "baby bump" is the result of her overindulgence.

She tells MTV's The Seven, "Every once in a while when I gain a little weight, I get the baby bump rumour. My parents would be like, 'Are we grandparents?' No, I just ate a lot when we were in Hawaii." »

First Look: Emma Stone Goes Blonde for Spider-man

5 December 2010 10:20 PM, PST | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

As you know by now, Superbad, The House Bunny, and Zombieland star Emma Stone will be playing Gwen Stacy in the Marc Webb-directed 3D reboot of Spider-Man. Although she's known as a redhead, her natural hair color is blonde. We haven't seen much of that on the big screen. This week they were doing costume tests on the comic book adaptation and Stone was seen sporting her new blonde hairdo on the red carpet at Trevor Live at the Hollywood Palladium on Sunday. Hit the jump to see what the actress might look like in Spider-Man. Gwen Stacy from the comic books: Here is a photo from JustJared [1]: [2] About Stone's casting in the film, director Marc Webb has been previously quoted as saying: “The chemistry between Andrew and Emma was stunning and made Emma the clear choice. Winston Zeddemore Not Convinced About More Busting in Ghostbuster 3

3 December 2010 | Horror Asylum | See recent Horror Asylum news »

There has been speculations galore surrounding the intended 'Ghostbusters III' sequelisation, however, nothing is truly set in stone - as yet. And in spite of various casting rumours such as Anna Faris (below) ('Scary Movie', 'The House Bunny') and Bill Hader ('Superbad', 'Paul') being described as 'strong possibilities' it's still all a bit 'up in the air'. And it appears that 'Ghostbusters' star Ernie Hudson, who plays Winston Zeddemore, agrees. In an interview with Movie Mikes, Ernie seems convinced that Bill Murray won't let it happen. Dan Aykroyd has apparently talked Murray into the project and both Sigourney Weaver and helmer Ivan Reitman are rumoured to be returning to the fray also. »

Happy Birthday Anna Faris! You’re 34 Today, Nov. 29th!

29 November 2010 6:20 AM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

You are one of the few actresses in Hollywood who is as funny as she is hot and that’s a rare but wonderful combination!

Anna, you have lit up the screen as the goofy girl in The Scary Movie films, The House Bunny and next you lend your voice to the upcoming animated Yogi Bear movie. This year, surprise your audience and take on a role with some darkness and depth. You’ll definitely be out of your comfort zone but you have the talent to pull it off! has all the details.

Happy birthday, Anna Faris! With your Sun in fiery Sagittarius and Moon in tender Pisces, you may alternate roles between comedienne and caretaker. No one could ever accuse you of having a weak sense of self, however, with an independent Sun-Mars conjunction and four planets in wickedly funny Sagittarius. The cosmos suggest your attention »

Could Harrison Ford or Anthony Hopkins Head For Zombieland 2

29 November 2010 | Horror Asylum | See recent Horror Asylum news »

Following the largely successful cameo from Bill Murray in it's predecessor 'Zombieland' it seems that sequel 'Zombieland 2' will also potentially have a stars name tag attached to it's credit roll. It's early days for the project which is yet to even be penned but according to Bloody Disgusting legendary actors Anthony Hopkins ('Silence of the Lambs', 'Red Dragon') and Harrison Ford ('Raiders of the Lost Ark', 'What Lies Beneath') are just two iconic names being bounced about for a prospective cameo role. Colombia Pictures are apparently on the lookout for an actor of their calibre to make a cameo appearance, much like Murray did. It'll be nice to see everyone back for the sequel including Woody Harrelson ('Transsiberian', 'Kingpin'), Jesse Eisenberg ('The Social Network') and the glorious Emma Stone (below) ('Superbad', 'The House Bunny'), however, »

Ghostbusters 3 Casting Rumours: Bill Hader, Will Forte and Anna Faris?

26 November 2010 11:45 AM, PST | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

So what's the deal with Ghostbusters 3? When it was first announced back in 2008 [1], it sounded like it was a sure thing, as Sony had hired The Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to pen a script, and Ivan Reitman was later confirmed to be in the director's chair. However, Bill Murray kept popping up in interviews, trashing Eisenberg and Stupnitsky's last film Year One, and acting as if he wanted nothing to do with it. Recently we heard that Dan Aykroyd was reworking the script and that Sony was considering a May 2011 start date [2] for the film, but with casting for the "next generation" of Ghostbusters still up in the air, it remains unclear if this sequel will happen anytime soon. However, this week, we've got some random casting rumours to add to the mix, and if they are accurate, it sounds like Ghostbusters could be drawing from »

Anna Faris and Bill Hader Still Strong Possibilities For Ghostbusters 3

26 November 2010 | Horror Asylum | See recent Horror Asylum news »

The rumour mill surrounding the anticipated comedy horror sequel 'Ghostbusters 3' is, as expected, currently in overdrive. You can't go anywhere at the minute without at least someone speculating as to who they think will join the cast. Well one man who knows better than most would be co-writer and star Dan Aykroyd. He appeared on radio station Wgn Radio Chicago and he's been trying to clear things up. They are 'open to finding some fresh faces' but also stated that two names flung around, Bill Hader ('Superbad', 'Paul') and the stunningly gorgeous Anna Faris (below) ('Scary Movie', 'The House Bunny'), are 'strong possibilities'! Even Eliza Dushku's name popped up once again. Exciting stuff! Original stars Sigourney Weaver and the twisted arm of Bill Murray will both return, and Ivan Reitman is back in the helmer's seat. »

Shark Night 3D Picked Up By Relativity But Drops To The Point Title

Celeb Halloween Costumes, A 'Twilight'-'Hunger Games' Crossover And Charlie Sheen In Today's Twitter-Wood

This was a banner year for Twitter-Wood Halloween costume photos. In fact, that's about all that anyone was posting in our feed last night, with Shaq showing up in drag, "Eclipse" actor BooBoo Stewart punching his mom and his co-star Jodelle Ferland getting suited up as Katniss Everdeen from Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games" books.

There were all kinds of couples costumes in the feed, too. Eliza Dushku played Lois Lane for Rick Fox, who went as Superman; Seth Green let his inner Harry Potter geek shine, and Ice-t got a little mad. Check out links to all the TwitPic posts after the jump.

Meg Ryan, 50 Cent and John Lithgow join “Lives of the Saints”

26 October 2010 5:00 PM, PDT | | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Variety tell us that a new ensemble drama is being put together, about the intertwining lives of various La residents and their assorted quests for redemption. In “Lives of the Saints”, apparently, they find forgiveness in the most unlikely of places.

To be honest, this sounds a little clichéd and familiar. Crash provided us with an La ensemble a while ago and before that both Magnolia and Short Cuts have covered the whole “intertwining damaged lives in La” thing, in both cases with extraordinary critical and artistic success.

So far, we have Meg Ryan, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, John Lithgow, Joe Anderson (Control, Across the Universe), Anthony Anderson (Transformers, The Departed, K-Ville) and Kat Dennings (The 40-year old Virgin, The House Bunny) confirmed on board, with Chris Rossi writing and directing.

Filming is due to start mid-November and of course it is far too early to say how the film will turn out. »

Take Three: Anna Faris

Craig here with Take Three.

Today: Anna Faris

Take One: Even cowgirls get the blues

I’m always up for a spot of Brokeback love. I know there's been plenty of attention around these parts in the past but let’s divert the love that-a-way. Let’s ride sidesaddle and gallop slightly away from Jake ‘n’ Heath. And Michelle 'n' Anne. And Ang. Hey, look, it’s Anna Faris as Lashawn Malone in Brokeback Mountain (2005).

I’d just seen Faris in Just Friends when barely a week later (January 2006) Brokeback was released here in the UK. The complete contrast between Faris in the two films caught me off guard. She pops up ninety-minutes in during a couples’ C&W night-out scene with Jake Gyllenhaal & Anne Hathaway.  She “talks a blue streak” without much pause for breath – and in doing so fills the gap where a homoerotic attraction is becoming increasingly »

Chilean Miner Rescue Reactions, 'Red' And 'Medal Of Honor' In Today's Twitter-Wood

Twitter-Wood was on pins and needles waiting for the Chilean miners to get rescued yesterday (well, Steve Martin and Simon Pegg tried to lighten the mood). Today, the overall mood is significantly cheerier, thanks to a successful extraction operation. Kal Penn and Patton Oswalt discussed their reactions, while some other faces in our feed checked out "Red" and Seth Green hung out with some sailors.

Green's shot with them was good enough to make Twitter Pic of the Day. You can find it after the jump along with Ice-t's multiplayer review of "Medal of Honor" and Juliette Lewis' view of the Arcade Fire concert in Los Angeles.
