Carver and Morgan are investigating a brutal attack on a young man, who turns out to be a promising young boxer.
A very nasty story, with a malevolent plot, the thought of a boxer having to go through such injuries, brutal.
Maurice Cowans is a good character, he really is a nasty piece of work, a monster lurks beneath the cool facade, a good performance from Ian Gelder.
I really like how Mary Jo Randle has settled into the show so quickly, instantly she's become a great character.
It's notable for being the final appearance of Ron Smollett, Stringer did play the part well, and the character definitely became more interesting when moved out of The Collator's Office and onto The Streets, but this show is definitely in the stage of going through massive changes, and he no longer fits The Bill, no pun intended.
Excellent, 8/10.
