An explosion next to a cocktail party kills several participants to an international drug cartel fight conference. The fatal victims include a priest, an Ecuadorian prosecutor and, in smithereens, waitress Lisa Winnaker, who turns out to have been raped and murdered before the explosion, which was not a bomb but probably surprised the arsonist. Lisa dated Colombian judge Dolores Ramos's boisterous son Antonio, who also enjoys diplomatic immunity, a privilege jealously 'babysitted' by State Department official Alex Radswell, a midget who according to Bones abuses sympathy. Because of pins in his arms Antonio couldn't commit the stabbing; but he is not the only Ramos involved... Written by KGF Vissers

Did You Know?

Near the end of the episode, in the scene in the diner where Bones and Brennan are talking over the case (before Cam arrives), everything outside the diner window is still at first, with a man standing with his back to the window and no cars moving. A few seconds later, everything is in motion, as if director was late with his cue. See more »

Special Agent Seeley Booth: Look okay, listen to me. I need you in your craziest most paranoid conspiracy mode to call the FAA and tell them that a private flight to Bogota is about to leave Kent Island Private Airport and is carrying aliens or-or terrorists, you know. You know what to do. Now do you got any questions?
Dr. Jack Hodgins: Just one: Full court press, no holds barred, maximum effort?
Special Agent Seeley Booth: Just stop the plane from taking off.

Nothing real surprising in this episode
14 July 2016 | by See all my reviews

There's not really much to say about this episode. Booth and Bones investigate an explosion in a night club. The reason for murder is pretty simple. Booth enlists Hodgins to do something that's right up his alley. Hodgins continues to drop hints that he wants to date Angela. Angela is giving him a hard time, but it's obvious where she wants this to go.

Booth and Cam are trying to keep their sexual relationship a secret. Oh, I hope this is short-lived (I can't remember exactly how long it happens...). I still think Cam is too demanding - especially when she gets onto Angela for sending Booth the drawing of the skull...

Booth and Brennan work so well together. In the end, Brennan questions Booth's decision but then stands up for him and wonders if can truly trust Cam.

I think Brennan is a bit harsh with the things she said to the agent from the state department...
