Facts about the 'Star Trek' Sequel

News is starting to slip out about J. J. Abrams' upcoming sequel to his successful 2009 Star Trek reboot. Wait, since the flick isn't due until May 17, 2013, perhaps "upcoming" isn't exactly the best word. Let's go with "forthcoming."

It has been revealed that the villain of Untitled Star Trek Sequel will be played by failed wolfman Benicio Del Toro. A while back, there was a rumor circulating — spread by a website that shall remain nameless, but was Not Planet Fury — claiming Del Toro would be taking the role of Khan, the operatic Latin scoundrel played by Ricardo Montalban in the original series' "Space Seed" episode and reprised on the big screen in 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. But that rumor has been squashed.

I repeat: Benicio Del Toro will Not play Khan.

It was also announced that ex-RoboCop and occasional college professor Peter Weller has signed for a role. »
