This Jan Lenica animated short reminds me a bit of the animations done by Terry Gilliam for "Monty Python's Flying Circus", though it isn't nearly as clever or well done. But, like Gilliam, Lenica appeared to have taken pictures (mostly drawings) and cutting them out--and animating them using stop-motion. While such films might interest me, this one never really caught my attention mostly because the quality of the animation is suspect and the story itself not especially enjoyable. In fact, much of it is very surreal and weird--just plain weird. While I could try to describe it, it really defies description and consists of flying machines, a bizarre mechanical cow, angels, Pegasus, money falling from the sky and other things--almost randomly placed in the film. It made my brain hurt but I can appreciate the work that went into this.
