  • Four bank robberies have occurred in Los Angeles, each committed by a lone masked gunman, who stripped the hostages of their clothing before taking off with the bank's money. The BAU are called in because of the differences in the last robbery: the security guard was beaten almost to death, and two pairs of hostages - an unrelated elderly woman and a young man, and the bank manager and his wife - were made to simulate sex. Because of these incidents, the BAU know that the naked hostages are becoming more important than the robberies, and as such he is leading to become a violent sexual predator and serial killer, perhaps without even knowing it himself. As other crimes occur committed by the unsub, the robberies do become secondary to the violent and sexually deviant aspects. It isn't until the bank manager admits to some information that the BAU come to the realization that the unsub is committing psychodramas: using others to act out his fantasies, which are personal to his life. Meanwhile, Hotch comes to the realization that he is neglecting his family all in the name of work.
