Fun rom-com from Stormy
lor_29 April 2019
Like the Black-themed theatrical comedies of recent vintage, this Wicked release is set in a women's hair salon named Gossip. It's ostensibly a vehicle for then-new Wicked contract star Carmen Hart, but filmmaker Stormy Daniels (who does not appear on screen this time) emphasizes instead an ensemble cast, suited to the milieu.

The sex vignettes are related by various hairdressers working at Gossip or their customers, with tall tales emphasized. We watch in flashback and are permitted to wonder if these sex escapades actually occurred, with a hint that they're fabricated being the emphasis on anal sex, that even the folks on screen comment upon as being excessive. If this were a Euro porn import, constant anal action would be normal, but it does stand out in a major label, Chatsworth actresses DVD.

It was nice to see Jada Fire without her braces and given a real character to play for a change, though clearly, as she mentions in the BTS short subject, her fans prefer all-sex action from her. The well-chosen cast has plenty of variety in terms of eye candy, while Stormy is careful to keep the situations interesting and provide opportunities for her cast to exercise their acting chops. For example, Katie Morgan is excellent in portraying a self-centered, bitchy customer who the staff loathes, while Manuel Ferrara as the sole male on the payroll does a good job of underplaying the flouncing around gay stereotype, which pays off as the viewer knows for sure he'll be doing the manly thing with the beauties (in this case, Carmen, Rebecca Love and Alexis Malone) by the time the final reel comes along.
