Top 10 Most Pirates Shows of 2010

31 December 2010 3:50 PM, PST | WorstPreviews.com | See recent Worst Previews news »

Earlier this months, it was revealed that "Avatar" was the most pirated film of 2010, with "Kick-Ass" landing in distant second. Now, courtesy of TorrentFreak, we have a list of the most pirated TV shows. "Lost" took the top spot this year with almost 6 million downloads. Despite the show being such a popular download, it still received over 13 million TV viewers. In second place came in "Heroes," with 5.5 million downloads. Unfortunately, there were more people downloading the show than watching it on television. TV viewers were at 5.3 million. "Dexter" had a similar problem. There were more people downloading the show's episodes than watching it on Showtime. "Glee," however, was the other way around. Check out the full list below, which doesn't include a single reality show. Top 10 Most Pirated Films: 1. Lost - Downloads: 5,940,000, TV Viewers: 13,570,000 2. Heroes - Downloads: 5,480,000, TV Viewers: 5,300,000 3. Dexter - Downloads: 3,880,000, TV Viewers: 2,540,000 4. The Big Bang Theory - Downloads: »

What Was the Best Show of 2010?

31 December 2010 5:53 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

It's come down to this, TV Fanatics.

We've already asked for your take on the top television couple, comedy and reality programs. But now we've arrived at the most important year-end question of all: What was the best show of 2010?

There's bound to be disagreement over our poll options below, but remember: this is merely based on the last 12 months. In our view, the past season-plus of some TV Fanatic favorites (sorry, Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy, True Blood) haven't featured the most interesting/suspenseful/original storytelling.

Will they make this cut in 2011? Perhaps. But, for now, we ask readers to vote on the following shows: »

The Notable Films of 2011: Part Five

31 December 2010 5:23 AM, PST | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

The Factory

Opens: 2011

Cast: John Cusack, Jennifer Carpenter, Ksenia Solo, Mae Whitman, Sonya Walger

Director: Morgan O'Neill

Summary: An obsessed cop is on the trail of a serial killer prowling the streets of Buffalo, New York. When his teenage daughter disappears, he drops any pretension and professional restraint he might have to get the killer.

Analysis: Shot almost three years ago now, Dark Castle had originally planned to release this thriller back in late 2009. However for reasons unspecified, it has been sitting on a shelf for some time and keeps getting delayed. In cases like these, the most obvious reason is usually the correct one - it stinks (eg. "Case 39"). The company certainly has had its fair share of box-office duds lately including "Whiteout," "Ninja Assassin," "The Losers," "Orphan" and "Splice".

Yet Cusack generally has good taste in projects, his last venture into horror was the surprisingly effective Stephen King »

SyFy's take on "Being Human" includes a lesbian character

30 December 2010 1:10 PM, PST | AfterEllen.com | See recent AfterEllen.com news »

With the New Year upon us, prepare to add a new Lgbt character to your radar when Syfy's Being Human remake premieres on Jan. 17.

The remake of the popular U.K. series about three twentysomethings — a vampire, werewolf and ghost who share living quarters — features a lesbian supporting character: Emily, the sister of the show's resident moon howler.

Played by Alison Louder, viewers meet Emily in Episode 2 of the new Monday night scripted drama that stars Sam Witwer (Smallville) as Aidan the vampire, Sam Huntington (Superman Returns) as Josh the werewolf and relative newcomer Meaghan Rath (Prom Wars) as Sally the ghost.

Alison Louder

For fans of the supernatural, the series grabs you immediately as Josh transforms into a werewolf. It's not the campy greatness of HBO's True Blood, but it's fun just the same. Judging from the first three episodes, we know that Aidan is a 200-year-old vampire who, »

Lr's The Blu Room: Legend Of The Guardians 3D & 2D Blu-Ray Review

Legend Of The Guardians:the Owls Of Ga' Hoole – (3D Blu-ray)Warner Home Entertainment2010/Rated PG/Running Time 97 minsList Price $44.98 – Now AvailableWhat would possess Zack Snyder to make a kiddie film about owls? I remember asking myself this question many months back when I first caught the trailer for the 300 director's latest, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. Had Snyder licked one too many Tootsie Roll pops or was he trying to show Warner Bros., the studio which had produced his last two films, that he could be a versatile director? Perhaps making a sure fire hit children's film was the only way the studio would back a radical idea like his bizarre looking epic Sucker Punch? Whatever the reason, I don't really care, because Lotg not only marks Snyder's best film, but proves he can handle stories of substance over style. Not that any of Snyder's familiar style is missing from Lotg, »

Our 10 Favorite Shirtless Moments Of 2010

30 December 2010 11:29 AM, PST | BestWeekEver | See recent BestWeekEver news »

1. True Blood Rolling Stone Cover. The blood. The touching. The lack of shirts. Skarsgard, why so modest? Paquin’s thigh can support itself. Paquin, cover up. Show some decorum. Moyer, you’re good. 2. Mark Paul Gosselaar’s Sex Scene on Weeds. This is a personal favorite. A water shed moment in television history. Wherein Mark Paul Gosselaar, everyone’s favorite Preppy, takes Mary-Louise Parker and does her in/on a bar. I recommend watching it again. This still hardly does it justice. Nsfw. 3. Any photo of Benjamin Millepied shirtless. A star is born. A shirtless star. Sure, he’s been famous in his own right as a principal dancer at The New York City Ballet for quite some time, but when Natalie Portman deems you worthy to procreate and marry, it’s a whole new ball game. It’s like Millepied’s life went from the straight to DVD release »
