Incredible Amount Of Material In This Episode, But Who Made The 'Miniature?', 12 December 2008

Well, to begin with, it was quite a 24-hour period for "Catherine Willows" (Marg Helgenberger) as the CSI member wakes up, finds herself in a motel room having been drugged and raped. She tells no one but "Sara" (Jorja Fox). Later in the day, Catherine is driving her daughter home from a dance recital when another vehicle slams into her and her daughter is kidnapped! At the end of the show, in the evening her dad "Sam" (Scott Wilson) is shot! Whew, what a day!

In the middle of all this we get some answers on the woman who was crushed to death and we finally - at the very end - find out who was responsible for what looked like a suicide (see the opening week). We also find out the connection between that and the rape-kidnapping involving Catherine and her daughter Lyndsey. (Kay Panabaker).

If all that isn't enough, there also is the very, very strange murder of an ex-rock star "Izzy Delancey" played by Joe Bonaduce. The really weird part is the miniature room that is created at the crime scene. The miniature as the scene down pat with everything exactly as it appears in the kitchen (the crime scene). It's an amazing piece of artwork and includes real blood from the victim. The whole fascinates CSI boss "Gil Grissom" (William Petersen) who - at the end of the show - is still trying to figure it out. In other words, not everything in this two-part opening story is solved.

I hope they don't forget about this doll house thing because it IS fascinating. I hate it when they leave things up in the air like this. Who killed the rock star and built that incredible miniature? Also guest-starring in her is film actress Sean Young, who played a number of sexy roles in the late '80s and early '80s. I have rarely seen any CSI show, including the Miami and New York spin-offs, with this many mini-stories packed into one 45-minute episode.
