Hamilton plays the small town hero, who has taken a detective course to boot. When two con men(Eddie Boland, Stanley Blystone) arrive with a supposedly indestructible safe, the villagers wait for Ham's approval first. He duly pronounces it worthy of consideration and they start to gather up every dollar they can get hold of to stuff in the wonder safe. What they don't see, though it's practically in front of them, is the safe has a false back and Boland just rakes the money out with both hands. When it's decided the safe is full, Ham tests it with a huge stick of dynamite. He causes a comic explosion, but the now empty safe and the vanished tricksters set him on a mission to track them down. In the city, he comes to a suspicious house where Bob Kortman and Anita Garvin (as mysterious, up to no good Chinese characters) await. They lure him into the house, but sadly, that's where reel one, and at least for now, the film ends. If reel two can be located, please finish this entry!
