'Game of Thrones,' 'Immortals,' 'To Catch a Thief' and Much More Hit DVD and Blu-ray This Week

Game of Thrones - The Complete First Season I just started watching this series a couple of days ago and knocked out four episodes in one quick clip and the show itself is great and I imagine those that haven't read the books are loving it. However, I wanted to be sure to read the first book before watching this season and having done so I must admit, for as good as they have done in condensing a ton of material it just doesn't compare. I know it's cliche and obvious to say "the books are better" but in this case there is a massive difference even though so much of what they have done works so well.

All that said, HBO has put together an impressive package for fans and those looking for more detail about the characters and world "Game of Thrones" explores. This includes in-episode guides that

Edgar Wright Has Never Seen These Movies, Pair Them Up For Four Nights In Los Angeles

Edgar Wright Has Never Seen These Movies, Pair Them Up For Four Nights In Los Angeles
Edgar Wright's latest epic project [1] has him partnering with Quentin Tarantino, Judd Apatow, Joss Whedon, Bill Hader, Guillermo Del Toro, Joe Dante, Greg Mottola, Harry Knowles, Rian Johnson and, probably, several of you. Like all of us, Wright has a bunch of classic and cult films he's never seen. Unlike all of us, he has the means to see them for the first time on the big screen and will do just that in December [2] at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles during Films Edgar Has Never Seen. The director of Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World asked both his famous friends (some of which are listed above) and fans to send in their personal must see lists and, from those titles, Wright came up with one mega list from which he'll pick a few movies to watch December 9-16. Angelina Jolie feels pull of Gravity instead of Wanted 2

Angelina Jolie has pulled the plug on a sequel to action flick Wanted by dropping out to take the lead role in a space movie instead.

But director Timur Bekmambetov - who previously made the Russian fantasy film series Nightwatch - wanted to revive Jolie's sharpshooting killer for the sequel. A script was written by Evan Spiliotopoulos (Battle for Terra, The Nutty Professor) and McAvoy was also set to return.

Vulture now reports that Jolie has declined to appear in the follow-up and the studio has scrapped the entire project rather than consider recasting or totally reworking the screenplay.

The actress is instead set to star in the Warner Bros space thriller Gravity, to be directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men,

Mark Millar Defends Writer Hired For ‘Wanted 2′

Last week, we reported Evan Spiliotopoulos was set to write Wanted 2–the other comic book movie. Yeah, you read that right, the writer who wrote Pooh’s Heffalump Movie and The Nutty Professor is writing the sequel to last year’s just-above-average summer “blockbuster.” Mark Millar, graphic novel creator and producer of the sequel, tried to quiet concerns but the Spiliotopoulos’ repertoire speaks for itself.

Millar, opting to create a story with producers instead of writing another comic book, had a number of comments on his message board regarding the issue. He had this to say in response:

“Never listen to any commentators as they never know anything about who’s coming back, etc. It’s just speculation and 99% of the time these guys don’t have access to the people who know. ‘Wanted 2′ is being made in a very tight circle at the moment.”

Looks like he
