Not an episode to showcase Bobby Ball's comedy talents.

The Swan Man of Ilkley, aka Lenny is back in town, only this time he's hearing a strange voice, one with a Barnsley accent. Barry is still being embarrassed beyond belief by Miss Davenport.

I didn't really rate the last episode featuring Lenny, and I'm sad to say that this one is just as poor, I love Bobby Ball, but the character is lacking, and the script is very poor, there's just nothing funny or particularly unique about it.

It's an episode that belongs to the previous two series, where a mature actor randomly turns up, and the plot generally revolves around him, there were quite a few of them, sadly this is one of the poorest offerings.

Miss Davenport continues to be a lot funnier than she has previously been, Tewson such a competent comedy performer.

Nelly has been a great addition, she's a more interesting character than poor Roz became.

5/10.

Dull

Being a fan of the late Bobby Ball it pains me to say that this episode is a dull outing which does little to provide any decent laughs.

Ball's character of Lenny, in his second appearance, continues to be fairly irritating. There's a nice cameo from Tommy Cannon again but apart from that, this episode is fairly unmemorable.

The episodes where the main cast meet a guest star can really be hit and miss. Shame.

Who's That Talking to Lenny?

Lenny, the Swan Man of Ilkley returns. He has heard a voice and it seems to have a Barnsley accent.

It's not long before Truly has dressed Lenny up as a holy man who would address his audience.

Billy and Alvin are the opening act with the sand dance. It was just a shame that Nora Batty could not join in. It really would had been a Wilson, Keppel and Betty moment.

Overall a disappointing episode, more could have been made of Bobby Ball's reappearance as Lenny. Once again his comedy partner Tommy Cannon makes a cameo.
