A real clunker.

Former pickle factory worker Lenny is determined to get to Ilkley via white swan.... Alvin teaches Nora to line dance.

The first episode of the new series.and I'm sorry to say, but it's a poor episode, unfortunately it isn't very funny, and it doesn't have the amiable charm to compensate, the jokes all seem to land wide of the mark.

Best scene has to be Alvin teaching Nora to line dance, that did make me chuckle, sadly the rest wasn't up to much.

It was nice to see the ladies back having yes in the living room, the bone china was out, primed and ready for caustic talk.

Not a good one, 5/10.

Ride a white swan

Bobby Ball makes the first of his three appearances in The Last of the Summer Wine.

He plays Lenny from the pickle factory who has a plan to float a giant inflatable swan to Ilkley. It might had been easier to take the bus.

Lenny needs to transport this swan to the river and the swan is leaking air.

Entwistle is roped in to help out but Lenny ends up getting pursued by the husband of a disgruntled customer of Entwistle.

Bobby Ball's old mucker is not left behind, Tommy Cannon makes a belated cameo.

Nora meanwhile gets Alvin to help her to learn line dancing for charity. Howard has a bizarre plan to dress up as a frogman to keep prying eyes away from him and Marina.

The trio have fun with the inflatable swan. Bobby Ball is a natural fit and it is a shame that Lenny never became part of the group. He would blend well with Clegg and Truly, better than Clifford who just appears to be a one arrow character.

This is the beginning of the 26th series and the antics between Howard and Marina looks like desperate stuff. Not far behind is Barry on the golf course.
