Has Anyone Seen Barry's Midlife Crisis?

It is hard to hear the words lockdown these days without thinking of the Covid pandemic.

Howard is on a 24 hours lockdown by Pearl. Stuck in his bedroom and strip the wallpaper.

It is up to Truly to come with an escape plan. It requires Billy and a plank of wood.

Meanwhile Entwistle is going around with an invisible dog that barks.

There is a nice sight gag with Nora Batty wearing a hat that looks like a cake that Alvin is having.

Barry's midlife crisis seems to be a minor part of the story. It gives Roy Clarke a chance to introduce another weird vicar. Apparently the vicar had a midlife crisis and the church warden is spreading gossip.

Another of those let's spring Howard episodes.

Barry is upset because he's not yet had his midlife crisis, he's off in search of it, Howard is once again under house arrest, and is desperate to escape and see.....a young lady.

Literally one of the thinnest plots on the show, and that's saying something, although it's not totally without its charms. On the downside, how many times can Howard be sprung.

A wafer thin plot, and not as good as the last few, but still decent, it starts off very well, with a very funny visual joke about another of Nora's hideous hats, that was funny.

I was working for Villeroy and Boch at the time, I see that Howard and Pearl have a lovely V and B China set, I think it was Villa Adriana, very nice indeed.

Decent, 6/10.
