Warning: Spoilers
Opening episode for series 4 and apparently SW was still being shown at 9.25pm, but it feels as though the change into something more firmly for viewers of all ages is well under way.

While in the first few series, Clegg in particular would come out with some pretty crude words or even concepts, he's very much the mild mannered Clegg most people think of now.

There's very little plot in this one. One of Compo's ferrets seems to be (& we finally get confirmation that it definitely is) loose in Nora's house, but nobody really gets anywhere with getting it back. It culminates with a hilarious "dance" of people looking for an entirely fictitious contact lens.

Not exactly a vintage episode but gently emtertaining. Nora's stealth skills surpassing Foggy's is a particular gem.

Gone ferret gone

For the fourth series and Compo's woolly hat has become a shade or two less darker to the more familiar light green one we are used to. It also seems that Sid's cafe looks a little less grimy and we are getting more scenic views of Yorkshire. There even seems to be more incidental music to instil some more mood.

Compo's ferret has gone missing and he thinks it might have ended up in Nora's house. At one point Foggy feels the full force of Nora Batty's broomstick.

It is not the strongest of opening episodes but the series in now on its way to become an institution with a run of several strong episodes through this series.
