An extremely enjoyable festive episode of the world's longest running sitcom 'Last of the Summer Wine'
Foggy can't bear a repeat of last Christmas. Compo and Norman decided to do all the Christmas preparations- decorations, food and presents at the last minute, Christmas Eve. But there was one snag, Christmas Eve was on a Sunday and everywhere was closed. So in order to not have a repeat of this, Foggy goes to the extreme, get ready for Christmas early, in the middle of Summer. After getting some strange looks from shop assistants for asking for Christmas cards, Foggy gets talking to a man in a pub about Christmas Trees. He has been given 100 of them for a tenner. He is given directions. He follows the directions and they are just trees in a forest.
A great typical Roy Clarke idea. With it being set in Summer, it made festive episodes difficult, so he needed ideas like this and an idea he used in the episode 'A Merry Heatwave' where the trio made a festive video for someone in Australia. Pretending to be freezing cold, yet topless kids kept coming by.
Best Bit: Foggy showing a slide show of all the problems the trio faced last Christmas.
