Rare footage of an important 20th century spiritual teacher
jason-21028 August 2006
Stephen Wolinsky's intelligent commentary and his descriptions of meetings and experiences with Nisargadatta Maharaj is supplemented by various lengthy video recordings of activities of the Indian guru in his humble home and on the streets of Bombay.

Wolinsky puts the teachings into a structural framework, identifying each of the concepts that pervade the philosophy, then attempts to show that these concepts and the world of science are compatible. He takes statements from Nisargadatta and explains how they fit in with his ideas of various scientific concepts. Wolinsky offers some practical meditation instructions which are quite good.

For me it was the rare footage of Nisargadatta answering questions in his tiny apartment, with kids shouting in the streets outside and hammering going on in the garage below, that makes this DVD priceless.

And Wolinsky's descriptions of his encounters with the Maharaj were much more interesting than his spiritual intreptations of scientific theories.

This DVD provides a rare and interesting glimpse of one of the twentieth century's most important spiritual figures. A must for anyone who has read the book "I AM THAT".
