The other day I was feeling unusually melancholy, what with the economy in the tank and construction workers building evil McMansions next to my house. One of my friends suggested I watch a Hong Kong gangster movie called Vengeance. He said the film was completely insane and would take my mind off my troubles. I told him all Hong Kong gangster movies were completely insane, but he fired back: "No – this one is really insane."
He was right.

Emily Mortimer (Cars 2) is close to landing the lead female role in Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming HBO pilot tentatively called More As This Story Develops. If she does finalize a deal, she will play MacKenzie, an executive producer of a cable news show anchored by Will McCallister played by Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber, The Lookout). Marisa Tomei was originally thought of for the role but now it appears that Mortimer is in final negotiations instead.
Mortimer is a longtime indie movie queen having had an increased profile after roles in Shutter Island, The Pink Panther 2 and a guest spot on 30 Rock in recent years. Also close to joining the cast are Alison Pill (In Treatment, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) and Olivia Munn (The Daily Show, Attack of the Show) as other female staffers on the television show.
