Simon has struggled his entire life with terrible personal demons. As a child, he lived with a father who was horribly abusive. Despite his early childhood trauma, Simon is determined to be a good father to his young son, Louie. But, when Simon's marriage comes to an end, he finds himself desperate to have time alone with his little boy. The only choice he feels he can make is to abduct the boy and take him away against his mother's wishes. Simon brings his six-year-old son to an isolated summer house in hopes of sharing one last summer together. But, despite his love for his son, the pain of his past begins to surface during those quiet summer days. The terrible suppressed memeories of his violent past begin to overpower him. Soon he is fighting to hold on to his sanity, which is quickly slipping from his grasp.
