Storyline

Peter and Lois upset Meg when they forget that her 17th birthday is a few days away. They hastily plan a birthday party that Meg complains she won't want to be seen at. Peter gets drunk and makes a fool out of himself. Eventually, he dresses up as a hobo clown and attempts to drive a unicycle down a set of stairs, but he is unable to control the unicycle and falls over the banister, landing on top of his father Francis, one of the party guests. Francis is critically injured with multiple injuries; with the family surrounding him, he briefly awakens to tell Peter "You're a fat, stinking drunk!" Francis dies immediately thereafter. Peter is depressed over his father's death and attempts to turn to crack. Eventually, Brian refers Peter to a hypnotherapist, who gets Peter to reveal that Francis is not his biological father. Peter visits Thelma, who admits that he was conceived while she had an affair with an Irishman 40 years earlier and that he (the father) has remained in Ireland. Brian... Goofs

Peter is not related to any ancestor he tells. This is because Francis Griffin wasn't his real father, which means those aren't his ancestors. His real father is Mickey McFinnigan. This also means that he isn't part African American. See more »

Peter Griffin: But there is one thing, Mickey. You knocked up my Mom and never called her again.

Funny Stuff!
22 October 2007 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

I heard a lot about this episode before I got the chance to see it. Apparently Irish societies in America were outraged by this episode and wanted it banned, while Irish people just thought it was funny! (Over the years we have just excepted the typical stereotypes that surround us, e.g. Drunken people, small villages etc.). The episode begins with a party being planned for Meg's 17th Birthday, Peter being Peter, gets drunk, falls down the stairs and lands on his father. His father dies, and Peter obviously feeling guilty goes to see a hypnotist, who sends Peter back into the depths of his mind where he recalls an incident where his late father reveals that he is not his real Father. Peter visits his mother, where she admits that 40 years ago she visited Ireland and had a fling with a local rogue named Mickey McFinnigan. Peter starts his quest to visit Ireland to meet his father. And that he does! My only problem with this episode, its not even a problem, a small error, is that when Brian and Peter arrive at their destination, they arrive in a traditional black London Cab?! Whats with hat??...All in all, typically Family Guy...Very funny!
