"Whenever you are in trouble, use the beta capsule and you will become Ultraman!" Those are the words got a Japanese astronaut hears while he's inside a red ball, conveniently pulled up by two barely visible black strings. So begins the adventure that occur during the 39 episodes of this Japanese TV series that has become a cult favorite, and it's quite convenient that right after he is given the power, monsters begin to appear out of nowhere. They are basically a bunch of giant rubber lizards or similar crestures, frightening to children who saw it in its initial airing, or in TV syndication like I did in the early 1970's, and delightfully silly when seen now. The special effects and props are cheesy, with an airplane obviously a toy a landing on a pool surrounded by weeds, although the emergence of the rubber monster early in the episode does look a little bit more sophisticated. The actor playing the Earthly astronaut who turns into Ultraman. Susumu Kurobe, is an extremely good-looking man, but he doesn't have to do much acting. The fire-breathing scaled creature (with no neck and tiny arms) is quite the premiere foe for Ultraman, an Ultraman's roll around with him is quite hysterical. I learned another thing about monsters in this episode. They don't like their rubber tail being pulled.

I realised many superheroes series often showed off the character abilities too much (Overshown) or just making them super OP at the beginning of the show instead of actually talking about the character in the series as a whole...Lickily ultraman does not do that..bad stuff and i love it.
