After Tintin finds out about the curse and that now all seven scientists go through the same terror at very same time, things have turned worse. Calculus has suddenly disappeared from the property when he went on a walk and it's feared the intruder last night was involved. While, looking for Calculus, Tintin and Haddock are shot at and they follow those men who could be the kidnappers, but they getaway from the police blocks. Haddock soon comes across a clue that leads them to a port and that had a ship called the Pachacamac,which was heading to South America.
"The Seven Crystal Balls" is writer and illustrator Herge's thirteenth comic strip album of "The Adventures of Tintin" and the fourth episode (part 2 of 2) of Season 3. The second half has Tintin and Haddock getting the mystery solved. Well they kind of thought so. That's until Calculus (who Haddock can't stop rambling how great a man Calculus is) goes missing and then the story thickens and eerily builds onto the supernatural quality of these strange occurrences. Where they head off for another erotic adventure involving the jungles of South America, Peru. Action is pretty minor, as a car chase arranged, but it becomes more concerned on developing the story to continue in the following tale "Prisoner of the Sun". What we get is an other-worldly atmosphere suitably integrated into the satisfyingly lean and well drawn up tale of superstitious beliefs and insightful subtext.
