Michael Sheen, David Tennant to Star in Neil Gaiman’s ‘Good Omens’ at Amazon
Michael Sheen and David Tennant have been cast in the lead roles in the Amazon series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s “Good Omens,” Variety has learned.

The show is set in 2018 on the brink of an apocalypse as humanity prepares for a final judgment. But Aziraphale, a somewhat fussy angel, and Crowley, a demon, aren’t enthusiastic about the end of the world, and can’t seem to find the Antichrist. Sheen will play the role of Aziraphale, while Tennant will play Crowley. It will consist of six one-hour episodes.

Amazon declined to comment.

Sheen recently starred in the Showtime drama “Masters of Sex,” which ended its run on the premium cabler in November after four seasons. He has primarily worked in film during his career, having starred in “Frost/Nixon,” “Passengers,” both “Underworld” and “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans,” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” among many others. 2017 Kicks Off with Tight Race for #1 Between 'Rogue One' and 'Hidden Figures'

2017 Kicks Off with Tight Race for #1 Between 'Rogue One' and 'Hidden Figures'
Domestic weekend estimates are in, but the full story won't be told until actuals arrive Monday afternoon as the top two films are within a mere fraction of one another as severe winter weather had a clear effect on this weekend's grosses. For the time being Rogue One: A Star Wars Story holds the top spot over Fox's expanded release of Hidden Figures by less than $200,000. The weekend's lone new wide release, Screen Gems's Underworld: Blood Wars, scored a fourth place finish while Focus's expansion of A Monster Calls failed to generate much interest despite strong reviews and audience response, ultimately finishing outside the top ten. Currently holding the #1 spot for the weekend is Disney's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which dropped 55.7% and finished with an estimated $21.97 million as its domestic cume climbs to $477.2 million, placing it just $9 million behind Finding Dory as it is soon to become

Film Review: ‘Underworld: Blood Wars’

Film Review: ‘Underworld: Blood Wars’
It’s always fun to see a classy, venerable British actor grunge it up by letting himself be cast in the role of a real black-leather badass. In last year’s “Green Room,” Patrick Stewart did reasonably well as the leader of a backwoods-biker white-supremacist cult (though he did kind of come off as the nicest hater you’d ever seen). Now, in “Underworld: Blood Wars,” the fifth installment of the vampires-kick-ass action horror series, Charles Dance, fresh from “Game of Thrones” and movies like “The Imitation Game,” shows up as a Vampire elder, and from the moment he strolls into the coven castle in his long black coat, looming over everyone with a look of extreme arrogance that says, “I am so bored by all of you that ripping your throats out would provide me with great relief,” he isn’t playing. Stewart, in “Green Room,” communicated that he

Vampires, Lycans & Love: An Appreciative Look Back at the Underworld Films

  • DailyDead
While many may scoff when I say this, let me just go ahead and admit right here that I unabashedly love the Underworld movies, a series I once referred to as the “Lord of the Rings of Werewolf Movies.” The first Underworld came along right at the perfect time for me. I was still super into horror action cinema at the time (coming off films like Blade and The Matrix, whose influences were being felt industry-wide), and I just couldn’t think of anything cooler than watching werewolves and vampires kicking each other’s respective otherworldly asses.

Other than the films’ tendencies to sometimes take themselves just a little too seriously, I've always felt like the Underworld movies have unjustly received a bad wrap within the horror community and deserve far more love and respect than they ever get. From their commitment to creating intricate character-driven storytelling that has taken us through (now) five films,

Video: Everything Wrong With Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans

Back when I was younger, I thought the Underworld series was pretty badass and that Underworld: Rise of the Lycans was the best of them all. Having seen it again a couple years ago...I now only hold one of those opinions, and I'm glad CinemaSins is backing me up on the claim that Rise of the Lycans isn't that great of a movie. Then again, I'm sure I could've found validation of that anywhere I looked. Check out their breakdown of what makes this movie awful below.

During an appearance at New York Comic-Con to promote “Underworld: Blood Wars,” actress Kate Beckinsale was asked whether her vampire warrior character of Selene might ever cross paths with Snipes’ Blade, to which she responded that a new “Blade” project is already in the works, The Independent reports. Unfortunately for fans hoping to see both characters in the same film, Beckinsale said she is not involved in the upcoming “Blade” project.

This isn’t the first time talks of a fourth “Blade” film have been swirling around, as Snipes himself told attendees at Comic-Con last year that he had “a really productive and a wonderful meeting” with Marvel in which they discussed making another “Blade” movie.
