****SPOILERS**** Checking out the latest victim of the elusive Bay Area Cat Bugler of San Francisco Officer Eve Whitfield, Barbara "Babs" Anderson, falls heads over heels for the handsome and aqua blue eyed Larry Van Druten, who's home was recently robbed and vandalized. Right away Eve's boss Robert T. Ironside smells a rat in Larry being down on his luck financially who's once millionaire pop left him peanuts in him losing all his money in a number of failed real estate ventures over the years. Also Larry isn't exactly making big bucks in his job as an half a** society columnist for a third rate paper in the city. What Ironside really suspects is that Larry is the one robbing rich people's homes and using the excuse of his own house being robbed as cover for his crimes.

Well with Eve all goo-goo eyed for the handsome hunk of a man Larry Van Druten all Ironside can do is have him be put under surveillance and hopefully get caught in the act. That in order to both put Larry behind bars as well as end his reign of robberies in the city. Still Eve who by now senses that there's something fishy about Larry can't help being smitten by his charm and good looks. So much so that she's seriously planning to quite the SFPD and join Larry in his literary activities if in fact he has any.

**SPOILERS*** With a major stake out for the mysterious Bay Area Burglar he does fall for the trap that Chief Ironside set for him getting caught with his pants down and his head covered with a woman's nylon stocking hopefully for his sake, in preventing him from suffocating from the odor, that's never been used before . The big surprise is that the burglar***MAJOR SPOILER**** isn't whom everybody suspected he would be. But an even bigger surprise is to follow in what Eve's decision, that we were all breathlessly waiting for, would be in either her staying with the SFPD or leaving it.
