Mathieu Amalric is the fourth French actor to play a leading Bond villain in the official James Bond series. As Dominic Greene, he follows Michael Lonsdale as Hugo Drax in Moonraker (1979), Louis Jourdan as Kamal Khan in Octopussy (1983) and Sophie Marceau as Elektra King in The World Is Not Enough (1999).

Goofs:

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Bond uses a Walther PPK pistol throughout the movie. If Quantum of Solace is set immediately after Casino Royale, Bond would still be using a Beretta, as Q Branch is yet to have assigned Bond the Walther PPK. However, there is no reason an MI6 armorer could not have switched Bond from his previous Walther P99 to the PPK before he shoots Mr White at the end of Casino Royale. We do not see his sidearm, only the H&K UMP he uses to kneecap White (which he still has in Quantum). He could have had said PPK on him the whole time.

Casion Royal left us with a glimmer of the old bond returning to out screens. How wrong we were to be misled by this.

This was an out and out action movie. Bond has lost his charm, his wit, his gadgets, his humanity. While I was prepared for a darker Bond, this new bond was really just a thug with 00 license.

The story was weak and the villain was neither scary nor evil.

The action scenes were filmed in a very choppy manner which made them hard to follow.

There was no suspense.

This was a poor sequel to Casino Royal.

The franchise needs to pull it together, or it will lose it's audience
