Is there solace in revenge? Bond and "M" sniff a shadowy international network of power and corruption reaping billions. As Bond pursues the agents of an assassination attempt on "M," all roads lead to Dominic Greene, a world-renowned developer of green technology. Greene, a nasty piece of work, is intent on securing a barren area of Bolivia in exchange for assisting a strongman stage a coup there. The film uses no elements from the short story, except its title. Apart from James Bond, none of the characters from the short story (Rhoda Llewellyn, Philip Masters, and the Governor) are used as character names in the movie, nor is its Nassau and Bermuda setting. See more
M tells Bond that a DNA analysis has been done on a lock of hair. Strictly speaking, locks of hair are cut off and do not contain the hair follicle which is preferable for DNA analysis. However, it is possible to get DNA from hair samples that lack roots, although it takes more time and effort. It is likely that the case was given priority to facilitate the effort. See more
