Storyline

Ever since they made a childhood vow over a plate of french fries, Jane assumed she'd be Susan's maid of honor. But now it looks like Shelly, the uber bridesmaid, is angling for the job. Shelly wants the job so bad she can taste it. She's put three years of hard labor into this friendship: dinner parties, book clubs. If Jane thinks she can just pop back into Susan's life and take away Shelly's rightful place in the wedding, she can think again. After much jockeying for position, Jane's not sure she even wants the job. She looks stupid in an up-do; she loathes pastels; and she's disorganized. But, as they say, the only thing worse than being asked to be part of a lame patriarchal tradition is not to be asked. Jane decides to fight. But Shelly manages to stay just a step ahead of her. So when Jane discovers that Susan's having trouble booking the church for Labour Day weekend, she sees her chance to shine. Jane lies, and tells her best friend that it's all looked after - thus ...
