The Wonderful 'Miss Landers' To The Rescue!
30 July 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Sometimes parents can't see things through the eyes of their children. At least that seems to be the message here as June turns out to be clueless about something that would really embarrass Beaver. Now, she would never do that on purpose, but to her all baby pictures are cute. Forget the fact that Beaver is naked and you can see his butt. That may not sound like a big deal, but it is to fourth grader if that picture is going to be on the bulletin board at school. None of the other kids have pictures like that up there.

Miss Landers' fourth grade project turns out to be a "beauty pageant" with the beauty simply being baby pictures of everyone in the class. Almost late in the project, June decides to mail in the picture quickly so that Beaver's teacher can have it first thing in the morning.

Beaver goes to school early to have a little chat with Miss Landers. That's the high spot of the episode and a real tribute to the wonderful teacher Beaver had. "Miss Landers," played by the pretty Sue Randall, shows why she was as about as ideal an elementary school teacher as any kid could want. The really cared about the kids, more than anything else.

It's sad to find out Sue, who was a very charitable person, died at the early age of 49 due to lung cancer. Cigarettes killed her.
