While on location in a spooky Romanian villa with his Hollywood big-shot mom and her dorky boyfriend, twelve-year-old Kevin befriends a Renaissance-era girl ghost who helps him cause unrest on the set.
"The Indian" is a touching drama about a negligent father who must face the son he abandoned years earlier, and the emotional wreckage he caused, in order to obtain a life-saving transplant. The father hires a beautiful young mechanic to help restore an old Indian motorbike and uses her and the restoration process to manipulate his troubled teenage son's emotions. Complications arise when the father has difficulty maintaining the lie to both his son and himself. Written by
The Film Catalogue
When I sat down in the theater at the Newport Beach Film Festival to watch "The Indian", I really didn't quite know what to expect. After a few minutes into the movie, though, it became quite evident that this movie was indeed special. It was quite refreshing to experience the unfolding of a story that addresses issues and sends a message that, I believe, many people can relate to in their own lives. The manner in which the film was shot made the characters and their lives quite believable and "Real". I must say that I truly enjoyed the film and I would love to see it again if the opportunity arises.
