I saw Investigation on Cinemania 2006 (in Sofia/Bulgaria). I can say that it's a good movie for the Bulgarian cinema from the last 10 years. The director Iglika Trifonova success to tell us a criminal story with lots of references to the characters mentality and to the present way of living in Bulgaria. She was following the examples of the American criminal dramas, just situate the action in a different social environment (on the Balkans reality). I think that there is only one problem - the same as in the lot of the Bulgarian movies - the actors play. The Director uses professional actors as well as nonprofessionalists and it's makes a little mash in the relationships between the characters. The actors behavior is perfect in few moments, but there is obvious overact in other situations. Something make me a great impression - in one of the night scenes where the main character are driving in the central streets of Sofia, they blow over with another car. Wath is the interesting here? In this car are the three main characters from the Trifonova's last film ("Pismo do America" 2001 - A letter to America). They cast a glance at each other and pass by. I like very much such kind of funny tricks. As cinematography the movie Investigation is perfect. The Director of Photography is Rali Ralchev. He also shoots in all over Europe (take for example the European Co-production "Samsara" - also shoot brilliant). The DOP has reach a good color balance and lightning. If you see the movie you will asking why it ends this way? I don't know.
