At the beginning of the conversation in the restaurant in France about caviar, Carter's mouth appears to be eating caviar instead of saying the words he is speaking before cutting to the close up scene where the conversation is continued normally.
While walking in front of the Taj Mahal, Edward is discussing which type of memorial process to undergo (burial, cremation or cryogenics). When he mentions cryogenics, he says "...or be frozen like Walt Disney." This is a common urban legend. Walt Disney was actually cremated and interred in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA.
When discussing the Africa itinerary, "Thomas" says they will go to Egypt, Tanzania, and then South Africa. The first thing shown in Africa is a safari and the last is Egypt, which is a different order to that mentioned by Thomas.
In the race track scene, Carter always looks to his right when he talks to Ed who is in the yellow car to his right. When Carter races away towards the end of this scene, their cars are on the wrong side. Ed's yellow car is to the left of Carter's red car.
Everytime the list is shown it's a new one. One can see differences in the line drawn in previous scenes. One of the most obvious is when SKYDIVING is stroked out with two lines but in the following scenes the list is shown there's only one line. The three lines over "Get back in touch" are at different places each time the list is shown also proving there are different lists.
The scene after Edward goes off the jump (during the race), he spins his tires, leaving a huge cloud of smoke. In the next shot, there is no smoke to be seen. Even though the camera angle would not let you see much of it, at least some of the smoke should still have been visible at the right side of the screen.
When Carter is in the bubble bath watching Jeopardy!, the number of categories that are available for play change. Mainly the middle two columns go from being partially played to having never been selected
At several scenes in the hospital ward, the monitoring-equipment shows exactly the same status on both men; blood-pressure, pulse, blood/oxygen level. And they don't change either, same pulse at both, same blood-pressure at both and so on constantly.
When the doctor finishes his first post surgery follow up with Cole, he proceeds to raise the side rail by Cole's right arm. The next scene reveals the side rail as being down, while the next scene after that shows the rail as up.
The very first thing on Carter's list is "see something majestic." At dinner, above "see something majestic" he writes "get back in touch." When Edward crosses that off, his pen is in the middle of the paper, and not at the top where "get back in touch" is written.
At the end of the race, after Carter comes out of the tunnel, one sees him do a 180 degree spin. In the next shot, he is not facing toward the tunnel as he should be, but is at a 90 degree angle instead.
In the car repair shop scene, when Carter gets to answer the phone, he is shown as picking it up with the left hand (wearing the watch), in the next shot he is shown picking up the phone and answering it with the right hand.
Upon returning to LA after their trip, Carter surprises Ed by having the limousine drive to Emily's house. During the argument that ensues when they get out of the car Ed rips up the yellow paper that the "Bucket List" was written on. However, the movie shows the same paper being intact 3 more times after that point.
In the court scene, when Edward holds his cup of Kopi Luwak with the left hand, then the board calls him for action, in the next show the cup suddenly changes hands. You can see Edward is attempting, for a split second, to hand over the cup with the (now empty) left hand.
In the hospital room when Thomas bends down to pick up a Christie's Art Auction book and a crumpled piece of paper, we see him bend down to pick the book up with only his left arm/hand while his right arm/hand is touching his right leg helping him balance. In the very next shot, we see a close-up of him picking up the book with both hands.
While both men are sitting on the top of the Great Pyramid and are facing South a shadow of the second pyramid is seen. Actually a shadow can't be cast in that direction (South East-South) on this latitude. Even if it could the shadow would be much longer.
In the film's final scene, Thomas has made it to the mountaintop, and although it's supposed to be extremely cold, and even though he's bundled up to the hilt, there's not the slightest hint of vapor emanating from his mouth or nose when he breathes. However, this is because you need air humidity to be able to see your breath, and the Himalayas are so cold that there is no moisture in the air. Both in the movie and real life, you do not have visible breath on top of the Himalayas.
