Australian television's longest running feud has ended after Normie Rowe and Ron Casey have agreed to forgive and forget, following an infamous punch-up on daytime tv. In July 1991, during a debate on whether Australia should or should not become a republic, Rowe and Casey came to blows following a heated argument between both sides. Over the years both Rowe and Casey have been constantly reminded over what happened and have deeply regretted the incident.
The halal economy is booming, with everything from food and cosmetics, to leisure products and holidays, being awarded halal certification. Kirralie Smith from Halal Choices believes consumers have a right to know if food has been certified or not, with a number of producers hiding that fact to the point of deception. Halal certification for some products is expensive, with the cost ultimately passed on to consumers, regardless if the consumer wants to purchase halal or not.
