Bob Ironside -- Angel
bkoganbing20 May 2017
The Ironside team is right on the scene of the crime as one of the cast members dies of a heroin overdose. Even before the medical examiner is there Raymond Burr concludes it was a hot shot involuntarily administered.

We further find out that it was an insulin needle stolen from the kit from diabetic Ellaraino one of the cast members. Later on another person is dispatched with some lethal hot sauce.

This 'play' is some avant garde guard kind of production, the last thing you would think our crusty chief would put his money in. The man does have many facets.

Diabetes is the key to catching the killer. See how knowledge about the disease nails the perpetrator.

Warning: Spoilers
***SPOILERS***Robert T. Ironside , Raymond Burr, who sunk his rainy day money bank account-all $900.00 worth-into a pay about hippies in the 1960's is now in danger of losing his investment. That's when one of it's top stars Carole Fisher suddenly dropped dead during rehearsals the day before the play was supposed to open. No slouch in these matters Ironside quickly even before Carole's body was examined by the police pathologist realized that she was murdered and her, as it turned out, killer is one of the cast members in the play! It soon becomes evident that the weapon that killed Carole was a hypodermic needle that belonged to cast member Rhoda, Ellaraino, a diabetic who used it to inject herself with life saving insulin.

With Rhoda cleared of Carole's murder it's now up to Ironside to find out who stole one of her set of hypo's to murder her and the reason why she did it. Ironside now more interested in catching Carole's killer then getting his money back that he invested in the play, that's about to close before it opens, checks out all those involve in the play and what reason they, if any, would have had to kill Carole! That's while her killer attempted, by poisoning, to murder the one person Alfred Cummings, Robert Lipton, who's able, when he gets his head back together,to identify her.

****SPOILERS**** It turns out that whoever murdered Carole did it for purely personal reasons. It just happened that the killer's boyfriend was having an affair with Carole that went bad with him ending up getting killed while involved in a anti-war demonstration in Chicago about a year ago. By then he had just about left her to dry and was about to check out in a hippie commune with Carole. It was in Carole stealing her boyfriend that caused her to join the play to get close to Carole as well as murder her! With Ironside together Rhoda setting a trap for Carole's killer that finally exposed her not just in her crime of murdering Carole but her effort to also murder Rhoda, who faked suffering from acute insulin shock, under the very same circumstances!
