Every now and then we all get involved in discussions about old kids TV, i say discussion but what really amounts to everyone reeling off names of old kids show and going oh oh remember..... Thundercats, Rainbow, Starfleet etc etc and giving a brief description of the show and humming or singing of the theme tune (Jamie and the magic torch is a classic) and everyone going yeah yeah i remember and the "discussion" goes on, until i say "hey remember mumfie" and got looks of disbelief and confusion, "you know little blue elephant, flew around in a car, had a scarecrow for a best friend and a nasty witch trying to steal his manners" more blank faces followed by claims that i was making it up. Years later someone once said they had seen it but it was the poor by comparison animated version and not the classic puppet show. Mumfie is real i tell thee, mumfie you are and elephant who's bound to... go far.... down in pinewood forest the star you are Mumfie.
