Joey and the Holding Hands (#2.21)
ComedyFan201019 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Joey finds Jimmy's engagement ring and Gina finds it, so Jimmy proposes to her right there. She says yes but then they have to tell some secrets to each other and turns out that Jimmy is married. They go to prison to get divorce from his wife and Joey learns from her how to have a deeper relationship with Alex.

Well once again, Jimmy and Gina dominate the episode. They were a great find for the show. The proposal scene....oh my god, never saw such a fun proposal in my life! And the part when Joey imitates Jimmy was pretty good, actually looks and sounds very much like Jimmy! The idea off the show with the wife in prison is also pretty creative.

Weak Joey episode
studioAT16 June 2016
You have to feel sorry for Andrea Anders. Uptight Lawyer, lonely woman whose husband is away a lot, cheated on wife – in her two years on 'Joey' she had to play it all. To her credit she did well, but the latest transformation into sex mad babe was one too far.

Even Adam Goldberg, so reliable since he joined the show, can't magic anything out of his storyline. Why he and De Matteo couldn't have handled the 'Jimmy is already married' storyline on their own without Matt LeBlanc having to be involved is baffling. It's a rarity that 'Joey' tried to tell an A,B and C storyline and somehow Joey (in full annoying big kid mode) seems end up in them all.

It's Costanzo's that works best, and there are even little examples of the chemistry between him and Matt Le Blanc that worked so well last season.

It's a flat penultimate episode, and one where even Matt LeBlanc seems defeated. After the huge hype around the show to where it ended who can blame him.
