- Felicity King: What are you doing with that chair, Felix?
- Felix King: Who are you, the kitchen constable?
- Felix King: [Felicity cuts a piece of cake] Hey!
- Felicity King: Hay is for horses.
- Felix King: But that's my birthday cake.
- Felicity King: That was yesterday. After one day, all rights to the cake revert to the baker. That's the law.
- Felix King: Who's law?
- Felicity King: The kitchen constable's law.
- [Felix goes in the kitchen and checks on Digger still worried about him]
- Janet King: [sees him] Felix.
- Felix King: [solemnly] He's not getting any better.
- Janet King: I'm more worried about you, dear.
- Felix King: I don't care about me.
- Janet King: I do.
- Felix King: Father doesn't.
- Janet King: Oh, Felix. Your father is very angry with you, and so am I. What you did was a terrible mistake.
- Felix King: I know. I can see that. I wish I could take it back. I wish it were me instead of Digger! I wish...
- [Felix cries as Janet hugs him]
- Felix King: How can you hug me and be mad at me at the same time?
- Janet King: Because I'm your mother. Now, you hurry up and get upstairs before your father comes back.
- [Felix sadly does so]
