ABC News’ “World News Tonight With David Muir” won the July 2017 sweep in Total Viewers, averaging 7.53 million viewers. “World News Tonight” has won all four sweeps periods of the 2016-17 television season, marking the first time the network earned that honor in a season since Peter Jennings was anchor 21 years ago from 1995-96. Former schoolteacher Mary Kay Letourneau and husband Vili Fualaau, with whom she began a sexual relationship when he was her sixth-grade student in Seattle in 1996, have legally separated and a reconciliation seems unlikely, People confirms.
“They’ve been having issues for a while now,” says a source close to the couple. “They tried to work through them, but it didn’t work. They’re still committed to being good parents to their children.”
There is no third party involved in the relationship, the source says.
Their initial affair — while Letourneau was a 34-year-old mother of four and Fualaau was 12 — ignited national controversy.

Barbara Walters looked back on the time she spent with Fidel Castro in a new video following the former Cuban leader’s death. “For a man who likes to talk, he does very few interviews,” Walters said in an interview with ABC News. “When he finally sat down it was, for me, memorable and to a large degree because we crossed the Bay of Pigs together.” This was the first time an American had crossed the infamous bay since the failed Us-backed invasion of Cuba in 1961. “The feeling is that he’s much bigger than he actually is,” Walters continued.

What a difference a year makes.
When Donald Trump first announced his intention to run for president last July, the announcement was met with snickers. The billionaire businessman was then best known for his popular reality TV show, a feud with President Obama over the leader’s birth certificate and previous, unfulfilled promises to vie for the White House.
Yet, Trump faced off against nearly a dozen more-seasoned politicians, and, one-by-one, eliminated his Gop opposition to clinch the party’s nomination just over a year after his initial declaration of candidacy.

Youth On The MARCHThere are 48 individual films screening in the Wavelengths section of this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. The relative importance of this section, amidst the vast array of offerings in this relatively huge festival, depends on your taste in movies, of course, to say nothing of your specific objectives. If you’re coming to Toronto to try to score a hot tip in this year’s Oscar race, well . . . I feel sorry for you on a number of levels. But Wavelengths is unlikely to be your jam. Originally conceived exclusively as a showcase for experimental and non-narrative films (hence the section’s title, a direct tribute to avant-garde master and Toronto native son Michael Snow), Wavelengths now encompasses the edgier, less commercial side of art cinema. This is the first of two preview essays, and my aim is to cover everything in the section. These are the...
