Storyline
After a tragic accident at sea, Eben Cole loses his family, friends and stature in his island fishing community. I saw this wonderful film two days ago and this morning it dawned on me that so much of it still remains with me. I can't say that about any other film that I've seen in a long time. It is a beautifully-observed, wonderfully acted, pitch-perfect film. VARIETY invoked IN THE BEDROOM as a point of comparison only to say that the story here is more plausible than that film - but it's very much it's own movie. See it. That is, see it if you can - it has not been widely distributed yet; it does not appear to have a general distributor yet despite the glowing reviews. If there is an art-house theater in your town, ask them to get it. It played a local theater here because it was shot nearby.
