a lot going for it but . . .
30 May 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

A revenge western which has a lot going for it. Really liked the music. Cinematography, props, sets, all this takes money and effort. Actors and makeup very good. Some talent went into this film and I notice that as of this writing over one third give this film a 10. I suppose a lot of us understand about the "weighted average" so I won't so into that. If you are the type that enjoys escapist films such that you don't pay much attention to the story itself, you might really enjoy this film. However, those of us who are more picky, who tire of stories that seem to have been written by an 10-year old, might prefer to have this film in the background while doing something else or pass on it altogether. Very illogical storyline with really nothing to redeem it, inconsistent characterizations, and terribly clichéd. Really now, they should have hired me to tweak (considerably) the story, and the result would have been much much better at essentially the same cost. On the message board "nice but failed attempt . . . " lists some of this film's many flaws.
