Goofs

In "Monday Misery", the American Samoa (located in the Pacific Ocean) is west of the international dateline, which means that it would be one day AHEAD of the USA, not one day behind, as is the case in this cartoon. See more »

Blasted Monday's get you every time

These reviews are for The Garfield episodes only!

We start with a Garfield quickie. Jon, Garfield, and Odie head on out on a car ride. Odie ends up locking the door, along with the keys, leaving Garfield & Jon outside, while Odie eats a sandwich. Garfield think Odie is stupid, but when it rains, Garfield realizes Odie is a smart Kipper after all. You don't usually see Odie as the malicious type, so it was amusing for that alone

"The Magic Mutt"

Jon is going to do Magic tricks for a Children's hospital, but his tricks are very stale. He heads with Garfield to a mysterious magic shop. He butts head with a magic dog by battling him in a magic wand duel. Both suffer the consequences. I thought this one wasn't bad. I didn't really laugh like I'm accustomed too when it comes to Garfield, but I did find Garfield & The Magic Mutt wand duel pretty amusing. It is fair entertainment, don't get me wrong. I just didn't think it was exceptional

We get another quickie. Garfield fills his mouth up to look like a fountain, expecting to swallow some delicious birds. He ends up getting more than he bargained for with a huge bird. Pretty creative and funny.

"Monday Misery" Garfield forces Jon to get up, to make him Blueberry pancakes. While devouring some delicious pancakes, he begins to panic when he realizes the day is Monday. Jon tells him he is putting too much emphasis on Monday, but Garfield ends up getting shipped to Samoa. Even worse, he finds out that they are hours behind America, so it is still Monday! This one is better than the first episode. It's a lot funnier. There are some really creative gags in this one. I can't spoil it, but it is pretty ingenious. I only have one carp. You would think Jon would be a bit worried about Garfield's whereabouts, wouldn't you?
