Trivia

Vic Mignogna and Caitlin Glass both spearheaded getting Ouran to the United States for dubbing, after they both saw it in Japanese. Mignogna specifically wanted to play Tamaki Suou after falling in love with the character. Maintaining professionalism Glass still auditioned others for the role along with Mignogna. Vic's audition landed him the role in the end. See more »

Quotes

Tamaki Suou: Although you and Mori-senpai have little in common, there is one definite thing you lack! And that's a 'lovely item'!
Kasanoda: Lovely... item?
Tamaki Suou: And this time we introduce to you... the lovely item, 'Mitsukuni-kun'!
[Honey sparkles]
Tamaki Suou: Indeed, if you look at Mori-senpai superficially, he does look scary and may give an icy impression. However, what happens when we place Mitsunkuni-kun on his shoulders? It's like a state of 'big bear Mori being likened by a little animal'!

Way better than I expected!
23 October 2013 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

This is the silly story of a smart but poor girl by the name of Haruhi that is accepted into a prestigious high-class high school due to her grades. One day she happens to walk into the room where the Host Club takes place (Host Club is a group of good looking men that spend their time pleasing women and making them happy). Haruhi accidentally then breaks a vase and it is decided that she will have to work at the host club to repay her debt (since she can't afford to pay for it).

The thing is the men in the host club don't realize that Haruhi is a girl at first due to her attire and short hair. So basically the story revolves around her working at the host club as a guy trying to repay her debt.

To me, the story seemed somewhat kind of lame but it is the sub-story in each episode that is so interesting and fun to watch. Slowly as the episodes go by, you learn about every character and each one is different with their own special story and personality. At times I'd have to say it's a bit over the top ridiculous but it is a light anime that will get you in a good mood. One thing I was happy about was the ending!

To me this is an anime you watch when you want to be cheered up. It's not something that will get you hooked but you'll find yourself coming back to it every so often for the laughs.

Worth watching!
