Fred hears some noise at Barney's place. He notices he is building some kind of "egg beater". But Barney tells him he is inventing a flying machine and Fred has doubts whether this thing will really work. After seeing Barney successfully riding the machine, he proposes to name it the Flintstone Flyer, but since he's too big, the machine won't work for him. Afterwards, hearing that this is opera night from Wilma as he wants to go bowling, Fred thinks of a plan to stay home. He feigns a general disorder in front of the wives and Barney, who offers to stay with him. Barney proposes Fred flies to the bowling alley on an improved Flinstone Flyer. It works this time, but little do they know the bowling alley is next to the opera house. Written by RealLiveClaude

The Flintstone Flyer
24 October 2015 | by (India) – See all my reviews

The Flintstones is an animated, prime-time American television sitcom that was broadcast from September 30, 1960 to April 1, 1966, on ABC. The show, produced by Hanna-Barbera, fancifully depicted the lives of a working-class Stone Age man, his family, and his next-door neighbor and best friend.

The show's continuing popularity rested heavily on its juxtaposition of modern everyday concerns in the Stone Age setting. The Flintstones was the most financially successful network animated franchise for three decades, until The Simpsons debuted. In 2013, TV Guide ranked The Flintstones the second Greatest TV Cartoon of All Time (after The Simpsons).

Fred feigns illness so he and Barney can get out of taking their wives to the opera, as the night coincides with a Bowling Championship. Using Barney's home-made prehistoric helicopter as a means of escape, the two then join their bowling team for the tournament. They almost get away with their scheme, until loose-lipped Barney gives away their night's activities by using a fake mustache he and Fred used earlier to try and fool their wives at the bowling alley.
